Our fundraiser badge has been robbed!

Thanks to a friend of mine, I recently found out that our Inanam District Scout Council 2007 Fundraiser badge has been sold at ebay:
The badges numbered 1 and 70 are definitely fakes as these badges are still in our possession. Also everyone knows that the purchase of these badges comes together with a Certificate of Authenticity from our District Scout Council. Furthermore our Council never issued a black bordered badge. Oh yes, the badges are also smaller.

I did not really think our badges too has become a victim (which somehow actually indicate some value in our badge!) and would like to make a plea to all of you to investigate the background of the seller w-patchauctions-c. My guess is that all the badges that this person is selling are fakes. Correct me if I'm wrong but if I'm right how do we actually stop this person from racking in a few hundred bucks?

Your kind effort is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, your patch was not "robbed" nor were the patches listed fake. What happened was you made your patch in a Chinese factory and some of the extra patches were sold on the secondary market in China.

I do apologise as I did not know they were current year fundraiser patches or I would have stopped the auctions immediately. I do recall that you contacted me but you never said anything about them being fundraiser patches as my rule is to never list a current year fundraiser patch.

Also when you contact me, you should be a little more polite. Threats and harrassment do not go over well with me as with most people.

This is for future reference should it ever happen again.

Now, none of my patches are fake nor ar they illegal. I suggest finding a maker of patches who cna guarentee security of the patches because most sellers of overrun patches are not as kind as me and do not care to work with people.

Thank you

Dear Ken,

Thank you for your comments. Kindly if you can provide me your email so that we can resolve this matter amicably.

Actually, those patches ARE fake. Over-runs do happen HOWEVER when you have a series of patches that are each individually numbered it is impossible to have over-runs of the individual numbers. If they were genuine over-runs it would have been the patch but without a number as when making patches like this they make the patches as a lot without numbers and then go back and put the numbers in later. So....for these patches with numbers to show up when the originals are in a known location its a fact that they are fakes.

Also.... the ignorant bit worked for a little while but its been years now since fakes (not overruns, you can try and call them that but we all know what they really are) have become prevalent. People like you keep buying patches from "overrun" vendors and then resell on ebay and claim "i didnt know it was fake. I was told it was an overrun" when somebody notices your products are fake.

For the last post. You are clueless. If you went to see the sweatshops (do not dignify these places with the word "factory") that these fundraiser patches are made in you would see that the patches are actually part of the original order and truly are "over runs" not fakes as you claim.

I KNOW because I go to these sweatshops and the markets that sell the extra patches. YOU DO NOT so you are clueless. Now, the patches may not be official but they are authentic. In fact, I just went 2 weeks ago and got a ton of FOS/fundraiser patches for 2008 and even a few for 2009. How can these patches be "faked" when they have not even been issued yet and in many cases the lodges to do have them yet.

Go to China yourself and see the truth for yourself. Your precious dollar patches have no security measures in place yet you cry when 100 dollar patches that cost you 8 cents to make because you support and exploit child labor end up in the hands of someone who will sell them on eBay and www.patchauctions.com.

It is very ironic that the Boy Scouts of America which I truly believe is a great organization with noble ideas such as Honor is breaking Department of Labor laws by having their biggest fundraiser made in Chinese sweatshops.

It doesn't matter if they are made in the same sweatshop on the same machinery, if the contract calls for 1,000 patches and 1,100 are made, those extra 100 patches are not contracted and are consequently fakes.
